Singer/songwriter Alex Becerra has released his first solo album, "Burden of Truth". The CD features eight original songs recorded and produced by Becerra. Several prominent Syracuse-based musicians lent a hand with this songwriter's first solo effort.

Becerra is not a newcomer to the music scene. In the eighties he performed in the Boston area with the band Major Shock, opening for such acts as Living Colour. He has performed with several Central NY bands, and his song "Reason for the Day" (Big Mike's Y94 Christmas Album) continues to receive regular radio airplay during the holiday season. Becerra has also worked as a recording engineer in NYC and at Todd Hobin Studios in Syracuse.

Currently, Becerra is working on new material which will be released as a collaborative effort with his brother Paul. The duo is performing in the Syracuse area, and plans on releasing the first Becerra Brothers CD in the fall of 2000.
