michael sold me my first bass rig (and overcharged me), and then talked me into replacing him at the music store so he could go on tour. he just resurfaced and rekindled our friendship after fifteen years on the road as sound man and tour manager for van morrison, jackson browne, david lindley, and al stewart, and is currently providing similar services for greg allman and dave koz. he's a fine guitar player, but he's back on the road. more important, though, is the fact that he launched my pedal steel career (ahem...) by trading me an MSA double-neck pedal steel guitar (8 pedals, 4 knee levers) for an 8-meg simm for his mac... sucker!!! 8-)
