the first time i heard shelley's voice i was blown away. we were in a yuppie motown band for a while, and have lots of friends in common. shel actually just moved to chapel hill, n. carolina, but she's always been an incredible singer trapped inside a housewife's existence. i just saw a singer at a show at the great american music hall in san francisco who reminded me of shel, and it turned out she's one of shelley's favorite. keep an ear/eye out for vonda shepard who, last i heard, was touring with jackson browne.
