songwriter.com is a floating collective of independent artists - friends, singers, writers, strangers (new friends), etc. - banded together to take advantage of combining our marketing efforts, and the low cost of promotions on the web, for promoting our cds.

having an independently and professionally produced CD is a pre-requisite for joining songwriter.com. please do NOT send cassette tapes or individually burned CDs off your computer.

membership includes:

• listing on our featured artists page
• your own web pages (or a link to your existing site, if you already have one)
• access to a password-protected members only area offering information and resources we've collected since we formed
• a songwriter.com email address

we share web hosting and marketing costs, with each member paying $100 a year. if you don't already have web pages, we can help you put yours together.

any checks or monies sent BEFORE acceptance into the songwriter.com collective will be accepted as donations. thank you in advance!

each member of songwriter.com is responsible for talking up the site (without getting obnoxious!) in newsgroups, at gigs, on business cards, etc. we also list each individual artist with most of the major search engines.

the only real procedure we have so far for adding new members is playing each new candidate's cd for each other, and taking a real loose vote on whether we think it fits/feels right. if you're o.k. with that, we'd love to hear your stuff (and see any related bio's, press stuff or whatever)... we make no promises other than to listen! 8-)
