Lion In The Living Room
Lion In The Living Room
There's a lion in the livingroom
He's pissing on the parquet floor
Clawing up the curtains
He won't stand still
He slides his tongue across my brother's cheek
My brother pours another drink he lets his actions speak
Well, I am reading magazines
My mother's reading magazines
My dad has an important call he has to take
The lion's slowly wrecking our family room
We're hoping he gets tired and leaves soon
It's a problem
I know that you know
You see it too
It's a problem and if it's so obvious what are we gonna do?
So I try to name the lion
I call him Freddy
And I tie a big red velvet bow around his mane
He tears the ribbon off, he's something I can't tame
My brother toasts him and starts to drink again
There goes my father's chair
There goes the bookcase
And my brother's trying pour himself just one more drink
He thinks the answer is melting in that glass
His words go bleary and I don't ask, but
It's a problem...
BRIDGE
He is gone by morning light
But every afternoon
He walks right in and stays all night
The lion's in the livingroom
He's pissing on the parquet floor
Clawing up the curtains
I can't make him go
He's slowly tearing this family apart
We don't talk about it and
I don't know where to start
It's a problem...
