Can I Still Say Yes?
Room #5
What was I thinking you were right all along
I'll put it all down in writing if that's what you want
You were wide open you had love that would stay
I ran the opposite way towards some treasure hunt
And running round in circles
Finally I woke up
Is it too late you're too gone got too tired of waiting round
Or can I fix this mess?
With my lunatic past and my fear that you'll turn me down
Can I still say yes?
No one one is better defended than me I am the last one to see the obvious
It seems so stupid now I thought I'd combust
If everything all came down to the two of us
But the further I ran from you
The more I saw your face
Is it too late you're too gone got too tired of waiting round
Or can I fix this mess?
With my lunatic past and my fear that once held me down
Can I still say yes?
Can I still say yes?
bridge:
If you smile at me kindly because you're past all that
If you want to tell me off I won't interrupt you
If you've moved on and now I am old hat
Well it's what I deserve but I don't know what I'll do
Can I fix this mess?
Is it too late you're too gone got too tired of standing by
Can I can I can I?
Can we send up the rockets or send me back home to cry
Can I still say yes?
