Trampoline
Susan's Room
I was a kid
I was on a trampoline
I tilted back to fall
Knowing I would bounce right back
Took no faith at all
Well I want some control
Then I want to lose it
Then I want it back
I shoot straight up and swoop on down
I get tired of keeping track
Now I'm falling loose and light, but
I got no trampoline, I want a trampoline
To know that I'm gonna bounce back upright
I want a trampoline
I had a sweet boy
He said I was a deep thing
A pull he could not shake
Said he had elastic love
It would give
And never break
I had to go and test it
I had to show my hard side
Hoping he would stay
He could have rolled with the punch
But he just rolled away
Now I'm falling loose and light...
BRIDGE
I'll jump up
Fall down
Close my eyes and run in place
I'll dive straight forward
Fall flat on my face
I will turn and twist
And scoot on over for that canvas kiss
I'll be on my feet again, but-
Now I'm falling loose and light, but
